WHAT CAN BE TREATED?
Targeted Treatment for Selected Pigmentation Selected Pigmentation Selected Pigmentation
Following a professional assessment, laser treatment may help improve the appearance of:
- Freckles
- Sun spots
- Age spots
- Selected flat pigmented birthmarks
- Localised areas of excess pigmentation
- Uneven-looking pigmentation
- Not every mark is suitable for cosmetic laser treatment. Moles and unexplained, changing or suspicious lesions must not be treated without appropriate medical assessment.
HOW DOES PIGMENT LASER TREATMENT LASER TREATMENT LASER TREATMENT WORK?
Controlled laser energy is directed towards the pigment within the selected area. The energy is absorbed by the pigment, breaking it into smaller particles that the body can gradually process.
The treated area may initially appear darker before it begins to fade. Results depend on the type, colour and depth of the pigmentation, as well as your skin tone and response to treatment.
- Complete or permanent clearance cannot be guaranteed.

Can all pigmentation be treated with laser?
No. Suitability depends on the pigmentation’s type, depth, colour and medical history, along with your skin tone. Some marks must be reviewed medically before cosmetic treatment.
Can you treat moles?
Moles should not be included within this cosmetic laser service. New, changing or concerning moles should be assessed by a GP or dermatologist.
How many sessions will I need?
Some superficial pigmentation may respond quickly, while deeper or larger areas may require multiple sessions. Anita will provide a recommendation following consultation and patch testing.
Will the pigmentation return?
Treated pigmentation may fade significantly, but new pigmentation can develop and some marks may return. Daily sun protection helps maintain results.
Is there any downtime?
Temporary redness, swelling, darkening, crusting or scabbing may occur. Pigment changes and scarring are less common but possible laser-treatment risks.
